This week (due to a minor problem) I will feature Throw Back Thursday today. This week’s song features The Doors 1967 notorious hit, “Light My Fire” released on their self titled album. The song was predominantly written by Robby Krieger, the lead guitarist of The Doors. “Light My Fire” spent three weeks on Billboards Top 100 and one week on Cash Box Top 100. The song was rebellious at the time, talking about getting high and you can’t beat that organ solo..This song was an instant classic the second it was made which makes it on the top on my list.
“Although the Album version was just over seven minutes long, it was widely requested for radio play, so a single was edited to just under three minutes with nearly all the instrumental break for airplay on AM radio. However, the album version was more popular for up and coming FM radio stations, and at social gatherings of young people” -Guitarworld.
